Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the RoadBond app and website (roadbondapp.com) handle information. RoadBond is a convoy navigation product. It cannot work without some location, account, and ride data.

Who we are

RoadBond is operated at roadbondapp.com. Questions: roadbondapp@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Account. Email and password, or Google sign-in. Display name, profile photo, and optional social handle you add in onboarding.
• Location. Used to place you on the convoy map, find nearby rides, and keep navigation working while you drive. While a RoadBond is active, location may continue in the background so other members can still see you.
• Ride data. Destinations, route, start time, member list, roles (leader, DJ, owner), join requests, and status (coming soon, active, completed).
• Voice alerts. Short microphone recordings you send to the people in that convoy.
• Camera and photos. QR codes to join a ride, and photos you pick for your profile or a RoadBond.
• Notifications. Device tokens so we can alert you about start times, join requests, and ride updates. You can turn types off in settings.
• Diagnostics. If you leave crash reporting on, error reports may go to Sentry (device and account identifiers needed to debug).
• Advertising. On ordinary rides, Appodeal may use an advertising identifier to show banners and interstitials. Funeral, drive-by, and fundraiser rides do not show those ads. iOS may ask for tracking permission; you can refuse.

Who processes it

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and push messaging.
• Mapbox — maps and turn-by-turn data. Location is sent to draw the map and route.
• Appodeal and its ad networks — ads on non-ceremony rides.
• Sentry — crash reports, only with your in-app consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

Why we use it

To run your account, operate convoys, send the alerts you asked for, improve reliability, and (on eligible rides) show ads that fund the product. Legal bases, where they apply, are the contract to provide RoadBond, your consent (microphone, optional tracking, crash reporting), and legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

Retention and deletion

Account and ride records stay while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app. After deletion we remove or de-identify personal data we no longer need, except where we must keep a record (for example a legal request or security log).

Children

RoadBond is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.

Your choices

• System settings for location, microphone, camera, and notifications.
• In-app notification toggles, crash-reporting toggle, and ad privacy options (where the OS provides them).
• Email roadbondapp@gmail.com to ask what we hold or to request deletion if you cannot use the in-app control.

This website

The marketing site is static. It does not run join requests. Share links such as /join?convoyId=… open the app when it is installed, or show a download page when it is not. The site may load web fonts from Google Fonts.
